B-Modified Rules for 2008

Safety Equipment:

• Snell SA-2000 or newer helmet required.
• Approved firesuit, gloves, neck brace, and window net/arm restraints required.
• Car must be equipped with 5-way racing harness, a minumum of 3" wide and less than 3 years old.

Frame:

• O.E.M. complete, 1964 or newer perimeter frame, american rear wheel passenger car only.
• Frame can not be widened or narrowed, and must be able to support roll cage on both sides.
• Min. wheelbase 108 inches, max. 112 inches.

Roll Cage:

• All driver side door bars and uprights must be min. 1.5 inch oD, with a min. wall thickness of .083 inches.
• Roll cage must have Min. of 3 door bars on drivers side, welded to frame, running parallel to ground and perpendicular to driver.
• Passenger side must have at least one cross bar, horizontal or angled with min. 1.25 inch OD. and a wall thickness of .083 inches.
• Top bar must be a min. of 1.5 inches with a wall thickness of .083 inches.
• Steel door plate of min. 18 gauge or .049 thickness, must be securely welded to outside of drivers door bars
• Door plate must connect to top and bottom door bars and extend from rear hoop to in front of drivers seat.
• Cage must consist of continious hoops, with a min. 1.75 OD tubing and a min. wall thickness of .095 inches for main cage and be mounted securely to frame in at least 6 places and consist of front, top, and rear hoops.
• One cross bar in top halo required and drivers head must not protrude outside cage.
• Foot protection bar required, and all bars forward of cage must be lower than hood.

Body:

• Body must have same width front to rear and be on O.E.M. frame.
• Engine compartment must remain open with no side panels.
• Body must be enclosed at rear, no panel in front of right door to engine compartment.
• No inner panels.
• Body must have front and rear window support posts.
• Driver and passenger windows must have a min. of 12 inch opening (Height and Width)
• No wings or spoilers allowed.

Engine:

Must be all steel (cast iron, no aluminum) 360 cubic inches or less.

No roller cams allowed.

Aftermarket rockers are allowed.

1 (one) single carburator only allowed. (Can be either 2 or 4 bbl)

Front suspension:

• All components must be steel, unaltered and remain in stock location. Allowed exceptions are tube type upper a-arms, with or without aluminum or steel cross shaft. Mounts can be moved
• O.E.M. lower a-arms only with rubber, steel, or nylon bushings (no offset, no bearings)
• Lower a-arms left and right must be of same design and be in stock location
• O.E.M. ball joints only
• Sway bar must be stock, unaltered O.E.M. only.

Rear Suspension:

• Any allowed, all components must be steel.

Steering:

• No rack and pinion.
• All components must be steel, unaltered O.E.M. in O.E.M. location.
• Steel steering shafts only, with quickners allowed.
• Quick release steering hub may be aluminum.

Shocks:

• One steel non-adjustable, unaltered shock per wheel
• No coil over, air, or remote reservoirs allowed.
• Front half of shock may be shielded.

Springs:

• One steel spring coil with a min of 4.5 inches OD per wheel allowed.
• Steel leaf springs allowed on rear.
• No torsion bars allowed
